☀️ Summer Highlights 2025 ☀️

Posted by Alexandra Bachand on

Spring is unfolding this year like the tide — at times advancing, at times retreating. Though the sun may seem to have lost its compass these days, the season of renewal — synonymous with fragrant joy — has indeed begun. It was heralded by the blooming of hyacinth, followed by narcissus, cherry blossom, apple blossom, and then magnolia. And now comes the divine scent of lilac, tiptoeing into the air. At La Grange, the air is steeped in all these scents.
The arrival of warmer days marks a highlight of the year, as it allows us to welcome more of you. The coming summer promises many exciting developments, and I’m delighted to share the season’s highlights with you in this newsletter.

The Return of « Jardin de Givre »

For those of you who have fallen in love with this fragrance, I bring good news: it has finally returned.
I won’t hide that this composition requires time to craft — a certain finesse during reweighing and a rather long maceration are among the main reasons. If you wish to secure your bottle, it is now available online. As always, it tends to sell out quickly.

1– Summer Opening Hours

This summer, La Grange returns in full bloom with a more intimate and simplified open-door format — much like in its early days. No reservation will be required to visit. The schedule is updated regularly on the official website. I encourage you not to rely on listing platforms (such as Google or other directories), which for reasons beyond my control, often display outdated hours from previous years — to which I have no access. This summer, La Grange will welcome visitors both indoors and on the small front terrace.

IMPORTANT

The space at La Grange is limited. Groups and oversized vehicles are not suitable for the site, for logistical and comfort reasons. The Scent Garden will be undergoing renovations this summer — and will not be accessible during that time.

2– Olfactory Exhibition: Moonlight Veil (BELLE DE LUNE)

I’m thrilled to invite you to a new olfactory exhibition held off-site this summer.I’ll be presenting a brand-new series accompanied by a fragrance, at Orford Musique, in the rotunda adjacent to the concert hall, as part of the 2025 Festival / Beethoven. This exhibit, entitled Belle de Lune, is inspired by the Queen of the Night — a fleeting flower whose bloom graces twilight for only a few hours. Here, music and scent intertwine to capture the delicate beauty of a wavering, melodic night. This body of work, created during an artistic residency at the music academy, is a heartfelt tribute to the music of composer and pianist Alain Lefèvre and to his new solo piano album, Consolation. Don’t miss the chance to attend the maestro’s closing concert during the Orford Music Festival 2025. Latest News

If you follow La Grange on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen that I spent some time in Europe this spring...

My book Jardins de senteurs — Projets aromatiques et secrets de parfumerie, published by Éditions de L’Homme in March 2024 in Québec, was officially launched in French bookstores this March. I’ve included a little photo taken in front of FNAC during my visit. If you would like a signed copy, the book (in french) is still available at La Grange — a perfect read for flower and perfume lovers during this blooming season.

I also had the immense joy of joining the World Perfume Archive in Versailles team for a second year in Italy, at Esxence 2025 – The Art Perfumery Event in Milan. The Osmothèque presented a selection of historical perfumes from the 1920s.
My passion for fragrance and history continues to deepen, and I remain devoted to helping preserve and promote this extraordinary intangible olfactory heritage on a global scale.

Looking forward to seeing you again,
