Created during an artist residency at Orford Music, the BELLE DE LUNE series took shape under the brush of artist and perfumer Alexandra Bachand, gently carried by the notes of Consolation, the new solo piano album by Alain Lefèvre.
Through neoclassical pieces tinged with cinematic accents, the artist allowed herself to be immersed in the fusion of music and fragrance, her gestures guided by both emotion and intuition.
“An exceptional Quebec pianist and composer, acclaimed internationally, Alain Lefèvre shapes the invisible through his music, which blends fragility and power.
The depth of his work, bathed in both light and shadow, embraces the heart and consoles the soul.
I drew from his music both strength and guidance.”

[ OLFACTORY ART / Artistic Approach of the Perfumer-Artist ]
The olfactory art exhibition BELLE DE LUNE by Alexandra Bachand consists of a visual and scented wall-mounted series.
This immersive work is inspired by the Queen of the Night (Epiphyllum oxypetalum), an ephemeral and mesmerizing flower whose rare bloom lights up the twilight for only a few hours, releasing a heady fragrance—like a suspended whisper between shadow and light.
An ode to the full moon, the bloom of this flower offers a form of consolation in the face of time’s fleeting nature.
Like the movements of a five-part sonata, the visual pieces align with a single perfumed melody, capturing the elusive beauty of the night—leaving you, perhaps, quietly transformed.
Music and fragrance intertwine beneath the stars, in a wavering, melodic flight.
A floral, airy, spicy and vanilla trail reveals itself as you gently bring your nose close to the ceramic diffuser, placed at the bottom right of each painting.
BELLE DE LUNE is a tribute to the music of composer and pianist Alain Lefèvre. Alexandra developed her creative process during an artist residency at Orford Music, cradled by the pieces of Consolation, the Maestro’s recent solo piano album.
