💞Lovers of scents: a beautiful book!

Posted by Alexandra Bachand on

For garden lovers, fabulous smells, flowers, perfume and beautiful books...

I'm telling you a secret. In the slowness of my workshop, I secretly sat down last year, at my composition table, facing my scent garden at La Grange, surrounded by smelling strips  and vials, to write a book that will bloom before the arrival of spring...

Here is a personal creative announcement which may ring a bell to movie lovers who may recognize the introduction to the film: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001). On this Valentine's Day when Cupid is busy sowing little treats, I said to myself: "why not..." 🏹 🌸

On March 13, 2024 at 11:11:37 a.m., The Admiral, a black butterfly of the Nymphalidae family, better known as Limenitis Artemis, capable of producing 600 to 900 wing beats per minute, will be landed at the top of a large vintage gate on the path towards the Abbey, in Magog.

At the same moment, in a fragrant garden a few steps from a charming little barn, the winged flapping caused by a flock of little chickadees will make the branches of a dozen large locust trees still asleep waltz as if by magic, without no one notices.

At the same time, on the first floor of 1245 chemin des Pères, Alexandra Bachand, just returned from a trip to Italy, will prepare to unveil a precious work.

Always at the same second, a period of writing ended which seemed suspended on a thread, spread over 365 days, thus giving birth to an unprecedented book:

JARDINS DE SENTEURS
Projets aromatiques et secrets de parfumerie

published by Éditions de l’Homme

The fabulous destiny of this fragrant book (written in french) will take off during its official launch, on March 13. It will be available on the Perfume House online store as well as in bookstores.

To celebrate this big day, two days of signings with the author are being organized at La Grange on March 16 and 17 from 10 am to 4 pm.

It will be a real pleasure to see you there!
Warmly, Alexandra 💞
